BOLA KEMBALI KE TAHUN 1994, DOMINASI HITAM-PUTIH

Leipzig, Bola Piala Dunia 2006 kembali ke tahun 1994, di mana bola tersebut menggunakan corak hitam-putih. Namun, tak seutuhnya kedua warna itu yang ada di bola tersebut namun ada garis berwarna emas yang melingkarinya.

Lalu di Piala Dunia 2002 yang berlangsung di Korea Selatan dan Jepang, bola berjulukan "Fevernova" adalah bola berwarna kecoklatan dengan desain dominasi warna emas yang dikombinasikan warna hitam dan merah.

Sponsor Piala Dunia Jerman, Adidas, berharap dapat menjual 10 juta bola ofisial resmi itu.

"Bola itu bagus saat saya coba ketika latihan," kata Kapten Timnas Inggris, David Beckham di Madrid yang hasil rekaman videonya ditayangkan.

"Itu adalah tampilan yang sangat klasik. Warna hitam putih melambangkan semua tentang sepakbola," tambahnya.

Adidas, yang telah menjadi penyedia bola ofisial Piala Dunia sejak tahun 1970, berharap dapat melengkapi bola yang digunakan di partai final dengan sebuah mikrocip, tapi FIFA memutuskan penggunaan teknologi garis gawang belum siap dan presiden FIFA, Sepp Blatter mengatakan, bahwa ia tidak bisa memperkirakan kapan teknologi itu akan digunakan pada masa depan.

Piala Dunia 2006 akan mulai berlangsung pada 9 Juni di Muenchen selama sebulan, dengan partai final akan berlangsung di Berlin.
